This is a very easy to read, fun, chapter book with lots of pictures.
Characters: Seiko the watchdog, Hot Dog and Cat Burglar.
Setting: Jake's Jewellery Shop and Pizza Pal's Place.
Problem: Seiko the Watchdog and Hot Dog need to catch the Cat Burglar.
Main Events: Three robberies take place.
Ending: A twist in the fishy tale.
Author Hazel's comments on writing 'Seiko the Watch Dog'
'I like playing with words. That's why the idea of a watchdog and microchips interest me. The character of Seiko is partly based on our family dog Phantom who likes to sniff things out on walks.
When I think of a story, I like to do 'participant-observer' research which means I get to do fun things, such as hot-air ballooning, trekking through Nepal and belly dancing. Then I base my stories on what I have learnt.'

"I know what it's like to be a watchdog because I used to be a security guard. My job was to patrol a building at night,just like Seiko. But, instead of being alert and looking out for cat burglars,I used to draw pictures at night.
